you don't need to remind me. time has played its tricks one too many times and i am a fool to it no longer. luey begs to differ.

i: right now?
luey: right now. right this very second.
i: i'm thinking hugs that only reach up to my legs. heartfelt scribbles that make love notes and special portraits. days made golden from sticks of gum and high fives. "you like my new shoes?"
luey: you miss the kids.
i: i definitely miss the kids. but i could never go back, only because they're big and rotten and i'd rather not see them that way.
luey: you're a damn wuss. get out of that head of yours before it makes you sick.
i: no thank you.
artist [ audrey kawasaki, one of my all-time favorites. thank you ben for having her pieces at your show. it's a whole new thing having it 5 inches from your face on a piece of wood as opposed to 5 inches from your face on a computer monitor. eh?
